The Philippine Talent Map Initiative (PTMI) will categorize and examine the current trends and issues that both the academe and industry face in terms of workforce development. The data to be derived from this research study will be used as springboard to develop sound action plans in positioning the Filipino workforce in the local and global labor market.
This initiative focuses on creating an ecology that bridges the gaps amongst different schools, industries, local government units, and national agencies that have a stake in addressing the labor market information gaps of a particular locality and compare the data across other areas covered by the research.
DOLE-SFI Group’s Nationwide Talent Mapping Initiative
The SFI Group of Companies has recently established a strategic partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to address the current issue of job-skill mismatch problems and unemployment in the country. Through its Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) program, SFI aims to contribute to Nation Building through its Workforce Development and Education Programs.
Significance and Importance
Getting a detailed skills and competency profile of the workforce would provide us relevant and current labor market Information.
The data from TalentMap© would also be made available to other government agencies, educational institutions and industries to develop responsive programs in addressing skills gap in the country, including an educational curriculum that is more adaptive and reflective of the workplace skills that students and candidates need.
With the K to 12 curriculum in place, the current workforce must align itself with the needs of the industry and the challenges of globalization.
